Jo Hansford has launched a foundation in conjunction with L'Oréal Professionnel to help the next generation of Indian hairdressers. The Jo Hansford Foundation was born after Jo was invited to judge the L'Oréal Colour Trophy in September 2005 by Michel Claire, International Professional Relations Manager for the L'Oréal Professional Products Division.

"I thought the event was fantastic and I was bowled over by how dedicated the hairdressers were to their chosen career and the strong work ethic they had. I really wanted to be involved, and starting a Foundation for these amazing young hairdressers was how I could contribute."

The Jo Hansford team teaches four seminars a year in India already, and to fund the Foundation they will dedicate a percentage of their earnings to it annually. L'Oréal Professionnel will also contribute to the Foundation, and the money will then be used to bring the eight winners of the Young Generation Award at the Indian L'Oréal Colour Trophy to the UK for a week long all-inclusive seminar with the Jo Hansford team. The seminar will include everything to do with expert colouring techniques, as well as education on running a successful commercial business.

The Jo Hansford Foundation was launched at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy in India recently and the eight winners of the Young Generation Award will be coming to the UK in February 2007.

"We are all so excited about the winners coming to London, and want to make sure it is a trip they never forget," says Jo. "The Jo Hansford Foundation with L'Oreal Professionnel is a unique partnership which we hope will continue for years to come and really make a difference to the future of these inspirational hairdressers."
