In 2007, Jo Hansford MBE launched a foundation in conjunction with L'Oréal Professionnel to help the next generation of Indian hairdressers. The Jo Hansford Foundation was born after Jo was invited to judge the L'Oréal Colour Trophy in September 2005 by Michel Claire, International Professional Relations Manager for the L'Oréal Professional Products Division.

"I thought the event was fantastic and I was bowled over by how dedicated the hairdressers were to their chosen career and the strong work ethic they had. I really wanted to be involved, and starting a Foundation for these amazing young hairdressers was how I could contribute."

The Jo Hansford Foundation was launched at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy in India in 2007. The team teaches a number of seminars a year in India, and to fund the Foundation we dedicate a percentage of our earnings to it annually. L'Oréal Professionnel also contribute to the Foundation, and the money is then used to bring the eight winners of the Young Generation Award at the Indian L'Oréal Colour Trophy to the UK for a week long all-inclusive seminar with the Jo Hansford team. The seminar includes everything to do with expert colouring techniques, as well as education on running a successful commercial business.
